Blackall Design Hub

The aim of the design hub is to provide quality graphic design in the central west and to create pathways for young people to learn graphic design skills. Karen mentors Scott Walker in design, facilitation and running your own small business. The mentoring is done face to face and long distance.

SpeakOut 'Finally' Exhibition and Event

Karen consulted and collaborated with the 2009 Trainees participants to organise the SpeakOut (now Human Ventures) final celebration exhibition and event.

SpeakOut’s Traineeship and Orbit programs have supported more than 140 young people for over 7 years to overcome disadvantage and change their world through creativity, access to training, supported employment and support.

Zig Zag Hepatitis C Workshops and Exhibition

In 2006, Karen coordinated a project to raise awareness of Hepatitis C for Zig Zag. Karen facilitated a series of ‘Self Care, Self Management’ art workshops throughout Brisbane for young wom*n. Upon completing these workshops, Karen curated an exhibition of the artwork produced.

Zig Zag provides counselling and support to young women who have experienced sexual assault and homelessness.
