Karen works on a sliding scale dependent on the resources of the client (e.g. not for profit organisations > small businesses > well funded projects). Karen also works professional hour for professional hour trades when possible. Costs also vary depending on if the project requires a consultative or collaborative process. Karen is interested in being involved with individuals, organisation and business in the grant writing process if there is a need to apply for funding for a CCC project. Currently there are two ways Karen charges

1. Quoting – this when a job is described and Karen quotes an amount (based on the hours required to do the job). The quote is honoured whether the job is completed in more or less time than quoted. If the job description changes or parts are added to the job during work, the job must be requoted. Work will not begin until all the information required by the client is provided.
2. Hourly rate – this is when clients pay for the hours that Karen works on their job without a quote.

Occasionally Karen takes the opportunity to learn a new skill through a job. The client does not pay for the learning time but does pay for the time it would take another experienced worker to produce the work. This is negotiated before work begins.
